girls in {tinted} dresses

Who says you have to wear white on your wedding day? Here are a few of my favorite tinted dresses that rise to the occasion....

Badgely Mischka took a tinsle-town approach in 2007. Notice the starry accent at the back of the dress at the top.

Grey makes a great foundation for a vibrant palette. Add yellow or pink or navy for a stunning pop of color.

I just can't get over this dress from the movie, Atonement. The color, though bold, is versitile. It would work for an evening, outdoor wedding on a steamy, summer night (add pink or turquoise, or both!). Or for a fall, city wedding on a rooftop. You could even wear it for a new-years-eve wedding- glam it up with lots of sparkle on your wrists, in your ears, and in your hair. Whatever the occasion, the wearer will be sure to turn some heads!

This is the JCrew Kate dress. It is retro yet delicate- it really could be worn as a bride's maid dress as well. The light blush color makes it a great color for a winter wedding- add a white, fur-trimmed cape or a long, sheer coat for a stunning effect.

{raindrops} on roses

Having grown up in Seattle, I have seen the effect that raindrops have on the North West. Green isn't the word- that's why they call it the emerald city. So, in honor of Seattle, raindrops, and red roses, enjoy this vibrant color palette.

these are a few of my favorite {rings}

Need I say more?!
The Tiffany Yellow Diamond

I just love how this Tiffany diamond sinks below the prongs.

This is one of my all-time Tiffany favorites- I love the gradual, substantial band.

This is the side-view above and the front view below of the Tiffany Legacy ring. Just stunning!

This is from the Nelson Signature Bridal collection. I sometimes wish that my wedding ring and engagement ring were connected so that they wouldn't move around so much- maybe this is a good solution to the problem?....

I'm always a big fan of hidden details- what can I say? It's the kid in me! These "bi-metal" rings are from per Amore'.

And now, for some bling. Though it's not overdone. The pave' setting is reminiscent of turn-of-the-century antiques, and the ovals are almost mid-century vintage. I think it's a very nice {marriage} of styles! This style is by none other than Ivanka Trump.

Another ring from Ivanka. I might be looking for one of these for an anniversary.... ;)

These rings are from Jack Kelege. I think they are just gorgeous- large doses of pave'!

Stay tuned for more from the Sound of Music!

The Sound of Music

Okay, so do you remember the song, "These are a few of my favorite things..."? For the next month or so, I will be using the lyrics as the inspiration for each posting. Hope you can hum along!
